Oscar Daga
was
born in Laborde (Córdoba, Argentina), on January 6th 1954,
just in the same year the crazy “space race” began.
While
two Great Word Powers were contending for the sky, in a small town
of this land away from the satellites, a child, who would focus
his eyes on the earth and its materials, was learn.
Caming
from a family which belonged to the extinct middle class, he left
his home town when his father was transferred to Marcos Juárez
for work reasons.
While
studying at Sagrado Corazón College, art for him was just
a simple drawing on a piece of paper.
Later,
his job as draftsman is same factories of the area gave him the
opportunity to learn about new tods and materials, just like new
word for his limited vocabulary.
His
beginnings as craftsman were an important step in his life.
In
same way his handicrafts were the starting point of the sculptures
we can enjoy in his atelier-house today.
